Casting Burdens

by Dennis Jaeger

Last month at Impact, we launched a new sermon series titled Cast Your Burdens: Sermons for the Weary Soul—a five-week journey designed to engage the real-life struggles people carry every day. Before the series began, we invited our congregation to anonymously share the worries, griefs, questions, and pressures weighing on their hearts. The response was both courageous and deeply revealing. People named profound loss, strained family relationships, anxiety about the future, financial pressures, questions about suffering, struggles with sin, and the persistent fear of not being “enough.”

As these themes were gathered and shared in broad categories, many were comforted to realize they were not alone in their struggles. It was eye-opening to see the depth of burdens others in our church family are quietly carrying, reminding us that beneath Sunday smiles are very real battles. Rather than speaking in generalities, this series was shaped directly by those honest responses. Cast Your Burdens reflects our commitment to being a church that listens carefully, responds thoughtfully, and walks alongside people as they entrust their heaviest concerns to God. May God be with you in the midst of your burdens!
