We Need Your Help!

In recent years, the Impact Houston Resource Center has witnessed remarkable growth in its ministry to the hungry and hurting in Houston. It has become the largest food pantry in central Houston and a lifeline for more than 800 families each week, providing groceries and essential items. This steady increase in demand highlights the critical role Impact plays in these families’ lives, particularly in challenging economic times.

However, this growth has also presented significant challenges. The Houston Food Bank, a key partner and source of supplies for Impact, has in recent years experienced a severe shortage of staple items, particularly rice and beans—two essentials that have always been a cornerstone of the aid we provide. As a result, our team has had to take the unusual step of purchasing these basic necessities independently.

Given this urgent need, we are reaching out to our supporting community—both the churches that have stood by us and the individuals who believe in our mission—to ask for help. We need donations of rice and beans to continue providing the essential support that so many families depend on. We give out these items in 2lb bags, with rice costing us about $1 per bag ($1100 per pallet) and beans costing about $1.50 per bag ($1500 per pallet). There are several ways to be a part of this effort, either by donating directly to Impact to cover these costs or by leading your church or other organization in a food drive.
