High School Mission Trip to Medina Children’s Home
by Raemi Goen
One of my favorite things about working with the Impact High School youth group is the opportunities we have to serve the people around us. One of these opportunities comes from our mission trip that we take to the Arms of Hope campus in Medina, Texas.
For the past couple of summers, we have been blessed to get to take a group of high school students to the Medina campus. This summer, our students helped cut down dying trees, stain a wooden awning, serve the entire campus a meal, serve the staff a meal, and help out at the on-campus daycare.
I love getting to work alongside our high schoolers on this trip as they function as the body of Christ. The Arms of Hope ministry focuses on assisting and extending a loving hand to children and single-mother families who are in need of shelter, life skills, and most importantly, Christ. The Impact high school youth group always leaves this trip not only exhausted, but full of joy as we are able to see the Kingdom of God on display.
Working alongside this ministry has impacted our young peoples’ lives in so many great ways. Praise God for the way he is working in the Impact high school youth group, and through the Arms of Hope ministries!
