New Year, New Retreat

by Geremy Varner

To kick off the new year Impact Middle School went on our annual Winter Retreat to learn what it looks like to be a Survivor. Things such as shelter, compass, food, water, and fire are extremely important in the wilderness, and while surviving the wilderness can be fun, we wanted to study what it looks like to survive in this world as Christians. Thankfully we serve God who serves as our firm foundation in this shaky world. He sent us his son to guide us when the path wasn’t clear. He gave us his word to sustain and nourish us. He taught us how to shine his light even in the hard times. And thankfully we aren’t alone! As iron sharpens iron, this retreat serves to sharpen and strengthen each other for what this new year might bring. I’m so thankful for all who decided to serve and participate on this amazing retreat!
