Arms of Hope Update
By Leslie Salinas, Marilyn Flores, and Patrick Lemmons
Ms.Lenelle is a single mother of three beautiful children and works as a mobile massage therapist. She contacted us when her car, which she depends on, broke down and needed $4000 worth of repair. She had to use her savings to pay for the repairs, which put her in jeopardy of being unable to pay her rent. Ms. Lanelle is currently working, but does not receive any assistance from the father of her children and her family is unable to help her financially. We were able to help her out of this crisis, and also connected her with other resources. Let us continue to pray for this family.

Ms. Iris Escobar is a single mother of 4 children, and has always provided for her children alone. She for many years has been cleaning the same four houses as her primary income, but this year she lost two of those houses when the families moved out of state. She is currently seeking additional employment, but came to us when she was in danger of being evicted. We were able to help her with part of her rent and connected her to other resources and to Impact’s food pantry.
Ms. Stephanie is a single mother to three amazing children. She originally reached out to us during the pandemic, when she had lost her job, her husband had been deported, and she was left with no income and three kids to raise. She later found a job with Alief ISD, which she loves, but just when she thought that everything was falling into place her car stopped working. When she came to us again she had been ubering to and from work for months, and was struggling to become financially stable due to that expense and from her previous unemployment. We are so glad that she entered our program and that we were able to share some of her expenses and avoid an eviction. Ms. Stephanie continues to work hard and is hoping to be able to fix her vehicle soon. She was connected to other resources and information on Impact’s food pantry as well.
