Impact Resale Shop Year One
by Patrick Lemmons
Impact staff, members, and supporters alike have for years dreamed about a permanent or semi-permanent space where we could sell donated clothes and household items, in an effort to supplement our annual Garage Sale. This year it became a reality!
From September-May in the new Impact Resale Shop we sold higher-value items for more than they would get in one weekend of the Garage Sale, which helped tremendously in funding the ministries of Impact. It provided a space on our campus where our families could shop for things they needed, either at low cost or in some cases for free using a voucher system. The voucher system was also used extensively to help our homeless men and women with clothes they needed. We are so grateful for the volunteers who made this all possible! We are now going to take a break in order to rest and reorganize, as well as allow our summer youth programs to have all the space they need. We feel that this first year was a great success, and look forward to building on that success again in the fall! And when we start back up we will need volunteers to make this all go! May God continue to bless this effort!
1) We are asking for help sorting items in our warehouse as they are donated, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30-1pm.The Resale Shop is organized into 6-7 rooms, we are even looking for some well-qualified people to help be in charge of a room! Contact Patrick at for more information or to volunteer.
2) We also continue to ask for your donations. We accept items being dropped off at our warehouse and are also available to come pick them up. Contact Denisse at our office to schedule a pick-up – 713-864-5667
3) Come by and shop – and bring a friend! We plan to be open on the First and Third Thursdays of the month from 9:30-12:30, starting in September.
