David Beegle

by Jim Delony

The Impact family faced a most difficult task last month as we had to say “see you later” to our dear David Beegle. It appears the Lord needed an experienced food and clothing angel to take care of his heavenly flock and David filled the job description.

For some fourteen years he served with the Impact ministry staff as he supervised the distribution center…but even greater was his love of assisting others with critical needs, especially those with alcohol and drug-related addictions. He had achieved his personal goal of 31 years of sobriety and he employed that success as he personally influenced hundreds who came through the Impact doors…aged men and women, young adults, and teens alike were challenged to consider the paths of their own lives after being in his presence.

His personal formula for gaining the confidence and trust of those he was serving was biblical in its concept…make friends of all who came his way and then introduce them to Jesus. He knew it was impossible to turn one’s life around without a personal relationship with God and His Son. David’s favorite scripture was from Matthew 25, verses 37-40: “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in or in prison and go to visit you?’ The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatsoever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

Our hearts continue to beat for his wife, Margaret, and his children and extended family. Thanks to all who have responded with love during this trying time.
